Consult

A routine board-level presentation at a recruitment company, for a routine project to review procedures and systems for compliance to new privacy legislation. About halfway through, we came to a slide about relationships with candidates, clients and others, and we described the company’s role as that of a ‘trusted intermediary’.

Sudden silence. You could have heard a pin drop.

“Can you say that again, please?” That was the CEO.

“We’re saying your real role is a trusted intermediary. It’s not just one way, obtaining cannon-fodder candidates for clients, because in many cases your candidates become your clients, and they also find new clients for you. So the real issue here isn’t privacy, but trust. If we review all processes through that lens of trust, always looking for ways to enhance trust, you’ll have a business model that extends itself automatically. One that gains income from every direction, because, for each of your stakeholders, you act as their trusted intermediary.”

Again that deep, disturbing silence, finally broken once more by the CEO: “D’you reckon we could patent that?”

We know you’ll find serious business value in thinking side-wise with us:  as in that example above, one comment can clarify the direction – and profit – of the entire company.

One of our core principles is that the knowledge needed will reside somewhere within the company itself; to elicit that knowledge, all that’s needed is a different way way of thinking. We don’t know your company: you do. What we do is show you how to find what you know – and how to find new value in what you know.

Unlike conventional consultancy, we can’t predict beforehand what you’ll discover: most of the real value arises from the unpredictable. But our consistent, proven process makes that valued unpredictability far more probable: that much is certain. So certain, in fact, that we offer a simple guarantee: you pay only if you see value in the work we do with you. That’s why we know that we offer better business value than the big consultancies – especially where real business change is on the cards.
